摘要 The valve plug is a cone (12) with a single, longitudinal, penetrating external slot, extending radially to its central longitudinal passage. The control component (10) surrounds the plug and can be moved relative to it. It has a cavity (30) of matching conicity, accepting the cone. It includes a passage communicating with the slot, for fluid (18) (includes gas) flow. Fluid flow rate is controlled when the control component clamps or releases the cone, varying the slot width. The control component is a screw or plug. This is screwed into a threaded section of the bore (14) in the body (16). Split cone axial position is controlled by turning it in the bore, around the split cone. On either side of the passage in the control component, there is a joint sealing against the internal surface of the bore. The cone has a formation co-operating with the body to prevent the cone from being turned when the control component is moved. Inter-engaging, non-circular sections are used for this purpose. A blocking pin engaging the cone transversely to the longitudinal axis is used. Conical surface(s) have an anti-friction treatment. Longitudinal passage and slot extend along the entire length of the cone. A circumferential annular groove intersects the longitudinal slot, to complete a passage. A radial passage connects to an annular circumferential groove (34) formed in the cavity around the split cone.
