PURPOSE: An aluminum rocker arm for reinforcing the nose part by forming a surface hardening layer on the nose part using plasma powder welding is provided, and a method for manufacturing the aluminum rocker arm is provided. CONSTITUTION: The method for manufacturing an aluminum rocker arm comprises a step(301) of fabricating a rocker arm by casting or forging aluminum; a step(303) of forming a welding layer having thickness of 2 to 5 mm by performing plasma powder welding as coating ceramic powder on a nose of the rocker arm; and a step(304) of processing the surface of the rocker arm through cutting, turning and grinding processes, wherein the ceramic powder is any one powder of Co2Al9, FeAl3, Fe4Al13, NaAl3, Na2Al13 and ThAl2. The aluminum rocker arm comprises a main body fabricated by casting or forging aluminum; and a welding layer having thickness of 2 to 5 mm formed by performing plasma powder welding as coating ceramic powder on a nose part of the main body of the aluminum rocker arm, wherein the ceramic powder is any one powder of Co2Al9, FeAl3, Fe4Al13, NaAl3, Na2Al13 and ThAl2.
