In the present invention, there is disclosed a method for monitoring an operation of a facility by means of a CPU (100) wherein the method is characterized in that it comprises storing parameters related to operating conditions of the facility in a relational database (112), generating equations in CPU (100) defining evaluation method of data obtained from operational sensors of the facility on the basis of parameters stored in the relational database (112) and monitoring and evaluating said equations during operation of the facility with the aim to determine whether failure occurred in the facility. Preferably, the facility, the operation of which is monitored, is a nuclear power plant.
