Stacking box comprises a base plate, angled longitudinal and transverse side walls (2), hinged covers, and an upper peripheral edge region. The covers consist of two symmetrically complementary lids (4), which can be exchanged for each other. When closed the two lids mesh together and lie against each other in an approximately seamless manner. The lids have webs (22) with recesses (24) on the longitudinal outer edges, which when the lid is closed engage with lugs (23) on the upper edge of the box wall. Preferred Features: The lids have on one side open hinge bushings (7) which are placed on hinge bolts (8) molded in one piece on the container wall.
