PURPOSE: A surface discharge AC plasma display panel and a method are provided to prevent an erroneous discharge in a dummy area by improving a barrier rib structure. CONSTITUTION: A surface discharge AC plasma display panel comprises a plurality of unit plasma display panels, wherein each of the unit plasma display panels includes a display area for discharge of a normal cell, and a dummy area formed at one or more adjacent side surfaces due to a non-uniformity of cutting. A plurality of barrier ribs(21) are spaced apart from each other on a lower substrate of the unit plasma display panel in such a manner that the barrier ribs correspond to the display area and the dummy area. The pitch between the barrier ribs formed in the dummy area is smaller than the pitch between the barrier ribs formed in the display area. |
