PURPOSE: An electric power steering system is provided to induce smooth rotation of a ball nut by differentiating the application of bearings supporting the ends of the ball nut. CONSTITUTION: An electric power steering system forms ball screws(11) to one end of a rack shaft(10) and has a ball nut(20) moving through the ball screws and balls(30). A first gear is installed to one end of the ball nut. A motor(60) is installed to the shaft of a second gear(50) engaged with the first gear. The electric power steering system forms bearings supporting the ends of the ball nut. The bearings supporting the ends of the ball nut are self-aligning bearings(80).
