The lightweight honeycomb brick has at least one vertical transverse web (11,12) which extends parallel to the outer walls and which connects the abutment walls and thereby increases the thrust bearing capacity, and the web thickness of which is at least twice the web width of the connecting webs (8) running parallel to it. The width of the transverse web corresponds at least approximately to the width of an outer wall (2,3). The brick may have two transverse webs extending parallel to one another and to the outer walls.
