Door-opening device (1) comprises a drive (2) and a force-transfer element connected to the door to be opened and driven by the drive. A connecting element (20) arranged between the drive and the force-transfer element consists of a drive-side connecting body and a door-side connecting body that move toward each other. The two connecting bodies are coupled to each other during operation of the drive in favor of a force flow from the drive to the force-transfer element. The two connecting bodies are brought into an uncoupled position by a force flow from the force-transfer element to the drive. Preferred Features: The door opener has a linear transmission (7) connected to the drive.
