The motor vehicle transmission has a gearbox shift control using magnetic control. The control (10) has a control lever (20) with magnetic stops to hold it stably in different positions and a cable (30) to transmit shift movements to the gearbox. The cable has a rigid sheath connected to the vehicle and a flexible inner (32) connected to the lever and moving inside the sheath.
