PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for adjusting a width of a printing paper are provided to adjust the width of the printing paper by adjusting a relative speed of a transverse motor with respect to a longitudinal motor. CONSTITUTION: A transverse width value of a printing paper and a longitudinal width value of the printing paper are corrected(10). Then, a speed value of a transverse motor and a speed value of a longitudinal motor are determined based on the corrected transverse width value and the longitudinal width value of the printing paper(12). After that, a transverse motor and a longitudinal motor are driven corresponding to the speed values of the transverse motor and the longitudinal motor, thereby printing data on the printing paper(14).
