PURIFICATION METHOD OF ISOBUTYRIC ACID

PURPOSE: A method for purifying isobutyric acid and isobutyric acid purified by the method are provided, to obtain highly pure isobutyric acid having a chromaticity of APHA 10 or less and a purity of 99.5 % or more. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of supplying the product generated during the manufacturing process of isobutyric acid into a distillation column via a supply nozzle(104); removing a low boiling point by-product at the top part of a tower of the distillation column; removing a high boiling point by-product at the low part of a tower of the distillation column; and collecting butyric acid through a side-cut nozzle of the distillation column(105). Preferably the top part of the tower of a distillation column is maintained to be steady, and the temperature of the top part is 80-100 deg.C and the temperature of the low part is 110-150 deg.C.
