PURPOSE: A cooling system of a V-type engine is provided to prevent the overheating or overcooling of one cooling water bank by equalizing the cooling performance of a left cylinder and a right cylinder and to realize quiet traveling by making engine output uniform. CONSTITUTION: A left pressure-compensating valve(31) and a right pressure-compensating valve(33) are installed on a left cooling water supply pipe(7) and a right cooling water supply pipe(9) connecting a water pump(11) with a left cooling water bank(3) and a right cooling water bank(5). The left and right pressure-compensating valves are connected via a bypass pipe(35). Both ends of the bypass pipe are connected to one sides of relief pipes(41,42), and return pipes(37,39) are connected to the other sides of the relief pipes. Elastic members(45,46) support relief pistons(43,44) placed in the relief pipes.
