Organic electroluminescent display including an electrode separator(156). The separator has a pattern structure in a first area for separately forming within each sub pixel an organic light emitting layer (158) and a second electrode (160). In addition, the separator has a second region having a pattern structure for directly contacting a connecting electrode with second electrode. An independent claim is also included for a method of fabricating an organic electroluminescent display. Further the separator has a third region with a pattern structure for preventing an electrical short between second electrode portions in the first and second regions. The organic electroluminescent display has two substrates which have many sub-pixels and associated thin film transistors(TFT).
