摘要 The proposed method for acoustically monitoring the geometric characteristics of the inside surface of a pipeline consists in arranging an ultrasonic transducer and a reflector in line with the longitudinal axis of the pipeline that is filled with testing liquid, generating ultrasonic vibrations in the liquid, receiving ultrasonic signals reflected from the inside surface of the pipeline, and determining the geometric characteristics by the difference of the propagation time intervals for the ultrasonic signals. To displace the ultrasonic signals in various radial directions relative to the longitudinal axis of the pipeline, a fixed reflector with cone-shaped surface is used. The data for the amplitude and propagation time of the ultrasonic signals are used for determining the dimensional tolerances of the pipeline cross-section.
