The invention relates to aquaculture, in particular to the production of food additives for hydrobionts grown in controlled conditions and can be used for providing cultured hydrobionts with nutritious food for stimulating the growth thereof and producing hydrobiont flesh having a high consuming quality. The inventive additive also ensures an increased yield of young hydrobionts and the colouring of the flesh thereof. Said additive comprises a complex of vitamins, aminoacids, lipids, microelements etc and is embodied in the form of beta -carotene-containing biomass of a Blakeslea trispora mushroom.
