PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of detecting, without removing/feeding toner from/into a storage part, an abnormal condition of the residual toner quantitative detection means which is caused by toner sticking to a detection part or scratches on it, or malfunction of the detector or soil on it. SOLUTION: A shutter 300 is provided for interrupting the movement of toner accompanying the shift from the state of the absence of toner in the part to be detected which is set in a toner storage part to be detected to the state of the presence of toner in the part to be detected. In the condition where toner is not allowed to exist in the part to be detected, the presence/absence of toner in/from the part to be detected is detected by the residual toner quantitative detection sensor. |
