摘要 PURPOSE: A system and a method for diagnosing operation fault in hot strip mill are provided to improve quality level of rolled strip by predicting causes for abnormal operation property in finish rolling. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises an SCC (supervisory control computer) setting part(210) for determining target set values such as target thickness, target load, roll speed and roll gap; an operator intervention diagnosing part(214) for judging whether roll intervention of operator is normal or not by operating thickness variation, thereby comparing the gap intervention amount with the thickness variation if the gap intervention amount is larger than the set value by judging whether strip thickness deviation is larger than control tolerance of end user or not and how much gap intervention amount of operator is larger than the set value set in the SCC setting part; a speed intervention diagnosing part(219) for judging that roll speed intervention is not normal by operating tension between stands and comparing the operated tension value with a tension set value set in the SCC setting part if the strip thickness deviation is minus (-); and a spray intervention diagnosing part(221) for judging that spray intervention is not normal if the operated strip thickness is less than a preset critical value, and thickness change corresponds to output side temperature change by operating strip thickness using an arbitrary stand load and comparing the operated strip thickness with actually measured strip thickness values to see if the operated strip thickness is similar to the actually measured strip thickness values.
