PURPOSE: A device for preventing a conveyor belt from being ripped is provided to prevent the conveyor belt from being ripped by detecting and passing through foreign bodies. CONSTITUTION: A device for preventing a conveyor belt from being ripped is composed of a pair of rotary stands(12) rotatably fixed to conveyor frames(2), a locking shaft(13a), an operating bar(20a), and a pair of proximity sensors(16). An inclined carrier roll(10a) and a horizontal carrier roll(10b) are mounted to the rotary stand. Guide plates are formed at both sides of the rotary stands. The locking shaft passes through the guide plates and is connected to a wire rope(13c). The operating bar is connected to the wire rope and passes through the conveyor frames. The proximity sensors are installed at the conveyor frames, and detect a pair of sensor bars(11a) fixed to the front of the rotary stands.
