PURPOSE: A parallel driving apparatus of a light source for a display device is provided to perform a feedback control on the basis of maximum or minimum values among sensing voltages from each lamp according to the brightness control voltages, thereby preventing a damage of a lamp unit due to over current. CONSTITUTION: The respective lamp units include lamps(LAM1-LAM4). The first to fourth lamp voltage sensing unit(941-944) have almost all the same structure. The lamp voltage sensing unit(941) comprises the first voltage divider comprised of a pair of resistors(R411,R412) connected between the lamp(LAM1) and the ground, a diode(D411) connected forwardly from an output of the first voltage divider(R411,R412), the second voltage divider comprised of a pair of resistors(R413,R414) connected between the diode(D411) and the ground, and a capacitor connected between the output of the second voltage divider(R413,R414) and the ground for outputting the first sensing voltage(VL1).
