PURPOSE: An intake brush controller of a robot cleaner and a method thereof are provided to improve the cleaning efficiency by effectively sucking waste on a floor. CONSTITUTION: A unit for generating an ordered amount of brush rotation current(1) generates the ordered amount of the brush rotation current according to a torque command of a user. A unit for detecting rotation current of a brush(4) detects the rotation current of the brush according to obstacles. A comparator(5) compares the ordered amount of the brush rotation current and the rotation current of the brush. A control unit(2) outputs a command signal to control the height of an intake brush by a compared signal of the comparator. A driving unit(3) moves the intake brush vertically by the control signal from the control unit. Thereby, waste on a floor are sucked effectively by automatically controlling the height of the intake brush.
