PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for manufacturing an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) are provided to enhance a yield of a scribe/brake process and reduce a process time. CONSTITUTION: The scribing apparatus combined with a braking apparatus includes a scribing apparatus(32) and a braking apparatus(34) formed in line with a fixing shaft line(30). The fixing shaft line(30) is connected to a moving member, so that the scribing apparatus(32) and the braking apparatus(34) move on a substrate(20) with the same direction. The scribing apparatus(32) comprises a wheel(24) for forming a vertical crack along a scribing line and a holder(26) for fixing the wheel(24). The braking apparatus(34) comprises a pressing roller(22) for pressing the substrate(20) and a holder(28) for fixing the pressing roller(22).
