Procedure starts with a base plate of one colour and a second base plate (1) of another colour or reflective surface, made from a metal or synthetic material and embossed with the licence plate characters (2). The embossed plate is then subjected to a de-embossing procedure, using metal plates or other tools to leave silhouettes of the characters, and covered with a layer of transparent plastic.
