New thiosulfated polysaccharides of specified formula. The polysaccharides are of Formula (I). P-(-E-R-S2O3Na)n (I) P = a hydrosoluble or hydrodispersible polysaccharidic polymer chain; E = -O-CO-, -O-CO-NH; R = 1-50C divalent hydrocarbon group optionally containing one or more heteroatoms; n = the number of thiosulfate groups . The polysaccharide may also bear an ether or amide functional group, to which is directly or indirectly grafted a thiosulfate group.
