PURPOSE: A device for initializing a weight vector of a smart antenna is provided to initialize a weight vector by using incident directional information from a multipath searcher processing receiving signals of multi-paths. CONSTITUTION: The first multipath searcher(100) comprises as follows. A despreader(110) despreads a signal by a control signal, and outputs the despread signal. An accumulator(120) accumulates and outputs the outputted signal. A fixing beamformer(130) consists of many beamformers(135) for processing and outputting beamforming output characteristics for the signal. Many power synthesizers(140) square plural signals of the beamformer(130) to convert into power signals, and synthesize the power signals to output the signals. A storage(150) stores an index number having the biggest signal among the outputted signals. A maximum value detector(160) analyzes the signal of the storage(150), and detects an index number having a maximum power to output the index number. The first finger portion(170) stores weight vector values for all index numbers, and receives a signal of a portable terminal by forming beams.
