The process involves measuring an angle of steering coupled to an upper part of a steering column and a lower part of the column coupled to a mechanical steering device. The data of assistance torque that a motor must apply to the steering column is established by comparing the measurements of angles taking into account the rigidity of the steering column between the two places of angle measurement. An Independent claim is also included for a system of assisted steering for the realization of the process of setting up a data of assistance torque that a motor must apply to the steering column.
