A joining material (30) between at least one ceramic or glass spacer (20) and a glass substrate (10) comprises an enamel mixed with at least one metal oxide in the form of particles. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a structure incorporating two glass substrates maintained apart by spacers fixed by the above joining material; and (b) fixing the spacers and a glass substrate using the above joining material.
