PURPOSE: A wet type electrophotographic image forming apparatus is provided to reduce a deviation of development by colors. CONSTITUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a developing unit(20) having four color developing devices for developing a desired image, a transfer belt(21) to which the developed image is transferred, and a transfer unit(22) that transfers the image transferred to the transfer belt onto paper. The image forming apparatus further includes a backup roller(20a) and the first potential supply part(20b) that applies a negative voltage to the backup roller. The transfer unit includes a transfer roller(22a) and the second potential supply part(22b). The transfer roller is rotated in closely contact with the transfer belt. The second potential supply part applies a voltage to the transfer roller.
