PURPOSE: A method for measuring an amount of fuel remaining in a vehicle is provided to precisely measure the amount of fuel remaining in the vehicle in a state that the vehicle is slantingly positioned. CONSTITUTION: A gradient of a vehicle is detected by means of a gradient detecting sensor installed in a vehicle(S11). If the gradient of the vehicle is less than a critical value, an amount of remaining fuel in the vehicle is detected by reading a fuel level gauge signal of a fuel tank(S13). If the gradient of the vehicle exceeds the critical value, the amount of remaining fuel in the vehicle is calculated based on an amount of fuel to be supplied from the fuel tank(S18). In order to calculate the amount of remaining fuel in the vehicle, an injection time of fuel and an amount of fuel to be injected into an engine are calculated(S14).
