PURPOSE: A heating operation method of an air conditioner is provided to sense the change of a heating load according to the frequency of compressor stopping for correspond to the heating load precisely and speedily. CONSTITUTION: A heating operation method of an air conditioner includes the steps of stopping some of a plurality of compressors first and the others later after driving or stopping a plurality of compressors. The frequency of repeating the above steps is determined. If the repetition frequency of the above step is higher than a set frequency, some of the compressors are driven or stopped.
