PURPOSE: Provided are a method for preparing multilayer ceramic filter which has good wear-resistance, heat-resistance, wide porosity distribution range and low weight and minimizes blinding and a ceramic filter using the same. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of (a) mixing 25-60 parts by weight of at least one ceramic powder selected from the group consisting of silicon carbide, alumina, sillimanite, kaolin, titania and diatomaceous earth, 10-40 parts by weight of clay, 5-40 parts by weight of a pore forming agent, 1-20 parts by weight of a binder, and 20-60 parts by weight of dispersion to prepare a slurry; (b) supporting the slurry on a supporting body to prepare a formed material; (c) drying the slurry-supported formed material; and (d) coating inner or outer part of the dried formed material with a slurry prepared by mixing 40-80 parts by weight of at least one ceramic powder selected from the group consisting of silicon carbide, alumina, sillimanite, kaolin, titania and diatomaceous earth, 10-40 parts by weight of a pore forming agent, 7-30 parts by weight of a binder, and 10-50 parts by weight of dispersion; (e) drying the coated formed material; and (f) sintering the dried formed material.
