PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a living polymer of a methacrylic acid aziridinylalkyl ester having a narrow molecular weight distribution which is a polymer of methacrylic acid alkyl ester having an alkyleneimine group at a side chain and to provide a method for producing the living polymer and to provide a block copolymer having a methacrylic acid aziridinylalkyl ester segment. SOLUTION: The methacrylic acid aziridinylalkyl ester has a recurring unit represented by general formula (I) (wherein R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>4</SP>are each a hydrogen atom or a 1-3C alkyl group and they may be each the same or different; m is an integer of 1-8) and has 1,000-100,000 number-average molecular weight (Mn) and≤1.20 molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn wherein Mw is weight average molecular weight).
