PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for production of polyhaloalkylaryl compounds useful as intermediates for active ingredients of agrochemicals and pharmaceuticals and to provide the compounds. SOLUTION: The method for production of the polyhaloalkylaryl compounds, such as 2-methyl-4-(1, 1, 1, 2, 3, 3, 3-heptafluoro-2-propyl)-aniline, comprises a reaction of a perfluoroalkyl halide such as, 2-bromo-1, 1, 1, 2, 3, 3, 3-heptafluoropropane with an aromatic compound such as o-toluidine in the presence of a phase-transfer catalyst and a base.
