PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal projector which can outwardly radiate the heat generated from a liquid crystal panel, a polarizing plate, and a light source lamp in a simple structure without using a cooling fan. SOLUTION: External air is introduced through an air inlet 70 to the lower end of gaps 61 to 66 between liquid crystal panels 31 to 33 and polarizing plates 34 to 39 in the liquid crystal projector 1, while the upper end of the gaps is connected to the outside through a connecting hole 71a of an inner duct 71. When external air introduced from the lower end into the gaps 61 to 66 is heated by the heat generated from the liquid crystal panel and the polarizing plate, an ascending air current is spontaneously generated in the gaps 61 to 66 and the heated external air is discharged from the upper end to the outside. Hot air heated by the light source lamp 5 through the inner duct 71 is discharged to the outside, and by discharging the hot air via the upper end of the gaps 61 to 66, the velocity and the flow amount of the ascending current generated in the gaps can be increased to efficiently emit the heat generated from the liquid crystal panel and the polarizing plate to the outside.
