摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for scanning a work with a scanner further reduced in size and cost, compared with a conventional automatic scanning technique. SOLUTION: The device and method for moving a sensor on a work comprises the sensor and an operation member. The sensor such as nondestructive test sensor is retained by the operation member, and the operation member is at least partially arranged within a housing. The operation member is automatically movable to one direction, and the housing is manually movable to other directions by the hand of an operator. Accordingly, the sensor is not manually but automatically moved to one direction relative to the work, and further manually moved to the other directions. Thus, the sensor is movable by combinations of automatic and manual motions. The operation member can have at least two substantially parallel arms extended from the vicinity of the sensor, whereby the sensor can keep a positional relation substantially vertical to the surface of the work while sliding along the work.
