PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembly method which can nakedly transport two chairs as a set stably without using a packaging element and free from damage, and a cushioning medium to be used for the method. SOLUTION: The assembly method for transportation of the chairs for mounting, on one of chairs C1, the other chair C2 in an inverted state and assembling both chairs C1 and C2 for transportation, and the cushioning medium to be used for the method are provided. When the chair C2 is mounted on the chair C1, the cushioning medium 1 is inserted between both chairs C1 and C2 so that opposite backrests 4a and 4b are separate from each other and respective seat surfaces 2a and 2b and the upper ends of the opposite backrests 4a and 4b are separate. Then, both backrests 4a and 4b are fixed by a belt-like binder 12, thereby nakedly transporting the two assembled chairs C1 and C2 in a stable state without damage. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
