PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning device which can be used also as a processing device and which can position both of a horizontal member or the like and a substrate member. SOLUTION: A stopper 7 is provided at the fore end of a support member 3 fitted to a moving member 6 which is moved by a servomotor 4, and clamp arms 23 and 24 are provided at the rear part of the stopper. Therefore a large-sized sawn square wood material such as the horizontal member or a pillar member, or the substrate member, is positioned by the stopper 7, while a plate material such as the substrate member having a small height can be positioned and carried by the clamp arms 23 and 24 provided at the rear part of the stopper 7. Accordingly, it is unnecessary to process the horizontal member or the pillar member, and the substrate member, by separate processing devices, as is the case with usual processing devices, and the horizontal member or the pillar member, and the substrate member, can be carried, positioned and processed by one processing device.
