PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-layer structure showing outstanding gas barrier properties, non-absorption of a flavor component and heat-sealing properties at a low temperature. SOLUTION: This multi-layer structure has a surface layer comprising a modified ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (C) with an ethylene content of 5 to 55 mol% containing 0.3 to 40 mol% of a structural unit (I) represented by formula 1. It is possible to thermally seal the surface layer of the structure at a low temperature by fusion-bonding the surface layer to another member. Thus a packaging container with the heat-sealed surface layer of the structure arranged on the side where the surface layer comes into contact with the content, is obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
