PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronous follow-up device and method which enhance reception quality by alleviating an influence of multipath. SOLUTION: The synchronous follow-up device 100 is provided with: an integrated value calculation part 105 which calculates integrated values by integrating correlation values by every fixed range of a delay profile; a maximum integrated value detection part 106 which detects the maximum integrated value of the integrated values; a maximum peak value detection part 107 which detects the maximum peak value of the correlation values in the fixed range in which the maximum integrated value is calculated; position detection parts 108, 109 which detect first and second positions where the correlation values first exceed a threshold in the positive and negative directions as the directions in which time proceeds from the maximum peak value and generate pieces of sectional information; a section calculation part 110 which calculates a section from the first position to the second position based on first and second pieces of positional information and generates sectional information; and a demodulation timing detection unit 120 which detects demodulation timing based on the sectional information.
