PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a new vertical injection molding machine employing a two-way hydraulic pump. SOLUTION: This vertical injection molding machine A is constituted by the stationary platen 1 for mounting the stationary mold 1a, the moving platen 2 for mounting the moving mold 2a which is disposed immediately above the stationary platen 1 to be allowed to ascend and descend freely, the tie bar 3 which is inserted to the stationary platen 1 as it can slide and to which the above moving platen 2 is fitted, and the mold clamping mechanism K which performs the mold opening-closing and mold clamping operations by elevating or lowering the moving platen 2 through the tie bar 3. The above mold clamping mechanism K is constituted by the two-way hydraulic pump 4 which produces the climbing and falling movement of the moving platen 2, the ascent-and-descent mold clamping cylinder 5 which is connected to the two-way hydraulic pump 4 and raises/lowers the moving platen 2 by the pressurized oil of the alternating operational directions discharged from the two-way hydraulic pump 4, the motor 6 which controls the discharge direction of the pressurized oil of the two-way hydraulic pump 4, and the hydraulic pipeline system H which connects the two-way hydraulic pump 4 and the ascent-and-descent mold clamping cylinder 5.
