PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vacuum cleaner which improves dust collecting performance by preventing a sudden decrease in suction power and realizes a reduction in the size. SOLUTION: The electric vacuum cleaner is equipped with a first dust separating part 6 having an inlet 9 for making suction air containing dust flow in and a second dust separating part 7 placed inside the part 6 and having an inlet 10 for making the suction air flowing into the part 6 flow inside on a cylindrical wall surface part 14. Since the inlet 10 for the part 7 is provided in a position which never opposes to the inlet 9 for the part 6, the electric vacuum cleaner with the improved dust collecting performance achieved by preventing the sudden decrease in the suction power and with the reduced size is provided.
