PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal partition for PDP (plasma display panel) which has high reflecting properties and insulating properties, and to provide a production method therefor. SOLUTION: In the partition for a plasma display obtained by forming layers on a metal substrate having many through holes, the layers formed on the metal substrate forming a coating consists of an Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>layer and an Al layer from the surface side. Electrolytic Al plating and anodic oxidation are continuously performed to form the coating, and the thickness of the Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>layer is 0.5 to 10.0μm. Desirably, the thickness of the Al layer is 0.05 to 0.40μm, and the surface roughness of the Al layer is≤0.5μm in Ra. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
