CONTAINER CLOSURE AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF

The inventive container closure is made of plastic and comprises a lower part (1) and a top part (2) which is embodied in the form of a hinged lid, a swilling joint (3, 4) connecting said two parts (1, 2) to each other, thereby enabling them to be pivotally movable with respect to each other between the open and closed positions thereof. At least one spring tongue (9) is protruded from one of the parts (1, 2) towards the other. Said tongue is made of material which differs from the plastic material of said two parts in terms of at least one of parameters such as flexibility and low stress relaxation at a permanent action of a preload force. The extended length of said tongue can be greater than a gap between the walls of the parts (1, 2) which are adjacent to each other in the open position thereof in such a way that the terminal area (6) of the tongue can be freely supported by the other part thereof which, in the open position, is exposed to a restoring preload force which automatically returns it to the open position thereof. In the preferred embodiment, said tongue is made of a fibre-reinforced plastic material, and the container closure is produced by two component injection moulding.
