<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate the amount of rotation of an imaging apparatus by analyzing an image being imaged by the imaging apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: There are an amount-of-movement calculation section 180 in an image for calculating, for each of a plurality of images, displacement vector in the image of a stationary object commonly included in each of the plurality of images being continuously imaged with time; and an amount-of-rotation calculation section 220 for calculating the amount of rotation in an amount-of-movement calculating apparatus 100, based on the displacement vector being calculated for each of a plurality of images. The amount-of-rotation calculation section 220, for example, uses the displacement vector and the amount of movement of a plurality of objects being calculated for each image to decompose the displacement vector into a variable component having a correlation with distance and a constant component without having any correlation with distance. Based on the constant component, the amount of rotation of the imaging apparatus with an axis perpendicular to the imaging direction of the imaging apparatus as the center is calculated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
