<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for an electrofusion (EF) joint which is capable of preventing an accident to supply electricity to an electrically heated wire in an erroneous power supply pattern from occurring and reusing a remaining joint in a reusable state when the power supply is stopped due to an accident after starting the power supply, and a method for recognizing the EF joint. <P>SOLUTION: The controller for an EF joint comprises an identification information reading means for reading joint identification information, including the proper joint number of the EF joint, provided for the EF joint; a storage means for accumulatively storing at least the joint number out of the joint identification information which is read by the identification information reading means; a power supply control means for detecting the repetition of the joint number by collating a up-to-date joint number which is read with a joint number accumulatively stored previously in the storage means and making it impossible to supply electricity to the EF joint from the power supply means; and a means to make the up-to-date joint number stored in the storage means non-accumulative when the power supply is stopped by the power supply means within a specified period of time set from the moment of starting the power supply or prior to the supply of a specified electrical quantity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
