<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid crystal display cell in which the opening ratio is increased as well as the tone of a displayed image is prevented from changing. <P>SOLUTION: The cell has an array substrate 1, a counter substrate 2 disposed opposing to the array substrate 1, and a liquid crystal layer 3 made of a liquid crystal material sealed between the array substrate 1 and the counter substrate 2. A color filter 4 is disposed on the inner face of the counter substrate 2. Electric field shielding auxiliary layers 5a<SB>1</SB>, 5a<SB>2</SB>, 5b<SB>1</SB>, 5b<SB>2</SB>, 5c<SB>1</SB>, 5c<SB>2</SB>are formed on the array substrate 1, and an insulating layer 6 is applied to cover the array substrate 1 and the electric field shielding auxiliary layers 5a<SB>1</SB>to 5c<SB>2</SB>. Signal lines 7a to 7c are laid in the region on the insulating layer 6 and corresponding to the end of the display pixels, and a flattening layer 8 is applied on the signal lines 7a to 7c and the insulating layer 6. Common electrodes 9a to 9c and pixel electrodes 10a, 10b are laid on the flattening layer 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
