<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape for feeding an electronic component which can be efficiently connected in replacing reels and a method of connecting the tape. <P>SOLUTION: This carrier tape 7 supplies an electronic part to an electronic part mounting device which takes out the electronic part from a tape feeder and mounts the same on a base. The tail end side of the carrier tape 7 already mounted on the tape feeder is provided with an end side joint 7E with a segment 21 and the head side of the carrier tape 7 to be newly used is formed with a head side joint 7S having a notch 22. In tape splicing during reel replacement, the segment 21 is fitted with the notch 22 and an adhesive tape 23 is adhered from both top and bottom faces of the same. By this, the joint 7E and the joint 7S holding mutually are registered in the longitudinal direction, width direction and thickness direction of the tape, and are connected effectively not needing a special connecting jig. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
