PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a demodulator by when demodulating the phase information from a phase-modulated signal without using a DSP or an A/D converter. SOLUTION: A comparator 111 compares a value A/2sinΦ*t, obtained by separating a phase-modulated signal inputted from an input terminal 101 into a sine component and a cosine component by an orthogonal demodulator 102, sampling and holding the components by sample-and-hold circuits 106 and 107 at fixed intervals of time, and integrating A/2sinΦof the sample-and-hold processed sine component by an integrator 109, with A/2cosΦof the cosine component to obtain their large/small relation and a timing detector 112 measures an integration time t=cosΦ/sinΦ=1/tanΦneeded until the result is inverted.
