PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image material data collection which can be used while its quality is maintained at a high level and the workload of a user is reduced. SOLUTION: Original image data P having a large image size are prepared, and various picture quality conversion processing is operated by applying various parameters to obtain a plurality of converted image data Q1 to Q6 having different picture qualities. Then, they are converted into reduced image data q1 to q6 having image sizes suitable for their recording in an image material data collection, and recorded in a data recording medium so as to be accessed as variation concerning the same original image data P. The similar processing is operated to the respective original image data to prepare the image material data collection where the variation images different in picture qualities are prepared for the respective original images.
