PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently exercise the heat exchanging effect by effectively dividing a gas component and a liquid component of a refrigerant in a simple one pass passage type evaporator wherein the refrigerant as a heat exchanging medium, is circulated from one of tank parts to the other tank part through a plurality of tubes. SOLUTION: A partition 12 is mounted on the way in the longitudinal direction of one of downwind-side and upwind-side tank parts 7, 9, the refrigerant flows in the tubes 4, 4 near an introduction port 14a in the downwind-side lower tank part 7, and flows in the tubes 4, 4 far from the introduction port 14b at the upwind-side lower tank part 9.
