PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a freezing prevention valve that can open and close a valve normally by preventing a float from deforming. SOLUTION: An inlet 4, an outlet 5 and an annular valve seat 6 are formed coaxially for a valve casing consisting of an inlet side member 1 and an outlet side member 2. A float 7 is arranged on the side of the inlet 4 of the annular valve seat 6. The low temperature condensate water is discharged to outside of the system from the outlet 5 by separating the seat from the annular valve seat 6 and opening the valve when the pressure on the side of the inlet 4 is reduced to the predetermined value, in the condition that the float 7 is submerged completely in the liquid. A retainer 9 of cross form is integrated as a unit with the outlet side member 2 in the annular valve seat 6. The retainer 9 forms its upper face on the side of the float 7 in the partial spherical surface coincident with the outer surface of the float 7, and receives the float 7 when closing the valve that the float 7 seats on the annular valve seat 6. The float 7 does not deform even if it receives the impact by the water-hammer etc., because it is received by the retainer 9 when closing the valve. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
